Saint Joseph mourns officer's death

Mac Kilduff, Staff Writer

4/29/2010 - Saint Joseph residents and police officers are mourning the death of Officer Bradley Thomas Arn who was killed in a shootout Monday.

Residents gathered for a candle light vigil as friends, fellow officers and loved ones sobbed over the unfortunate loss of the officer.

A makeshift memorial full of flowers, pictures and memories sits on the corner of 22nd and Frederick near where Arn had been killed by an unidentified gunman.

“He will be sorely missed,” says one St. Joseph resident, “we will never forget him and we pray for his family.”

The last police officer killed in the line of duty was struck by a vehicle in 1991. The police dept. plans to raise money for Arn’s family and to buy a plaque in his memory.
